Speech recognition runs on your device. On Android, iPhone, and iPad, Saybold does not send your recordings to a cloud transcription service. This does not mean the app never connects to the internet: model delivery and store billing involve external services, and on Android, Google’s ML Kit sends technical diagnostics. The iPhone and iPad app contains no third-party SDKs; its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected. Saybold keeps its saved library out of automatic cloud backups; you can create an encrypted export yourself.

1. Your dictation & local data

Saybold, provided by Evolvosofts, turns speech into text using speech models downloaded to your device. You do not need to create a Saybold account.

The app processes microphone audio for dictation and meetings and may keep the following in its private storage on your device:

  • Recordings, including unfinished recordings retained so you can retry transcription.
  • Original transcripts, reviewed text, meeting transcripts and notes, timestamps, recording duration, and related word-activity totals.
  • Meeting summaries, key points, decisions, action items, and open questions extracted from the transcript. On compatible devices and supported languages, an on-device AI service may refine the summary.
  • The name or identifier of the app used for a dictation, when available, for local history and app-based browsing.
  • Places you choose to name and save, including their coordinates and matching radius. If you enable location context, a matching place name can be attached to new dictations and meetings for local search and calendar views.
  • Your personal vocabulary, learned corrections, selected contact names you choose to add, and app preferences.
  • Downloaded speech and translation models and local purchase-entitlement information.

The current app has no app-operated endpoint that uploads your audio, transcripts, meeting notes, saved places, vocabulary, contact names, or dictation history. When you choose to insert, share, copy, or translate text in another app, that app handles the text under its own policies. System backups and user-created exports are described below.

2. Permissions, with a purpose

On Android

PermissionWhy Saybold uses it
MicrophoneRecords audio when you start a dictation or meeting recording.
Precise location (optional)Lets you save a named place and check whether a new dictation or meeting starts near it. Saybold does not track location in the background; a matching place name is attached to the entry.
Display over other appsShows the floating voice orb and related dictation controls.
AccessibilityWith your approval, identifies the focused editable field and inserts the text you dictate in compatible apps. Saybold does not use this service to upload screen content.
ContactsOptionally lets you select contact names to add to your local vocabulary.
Notifications & foreground serviceSupports ongoing recording, floating-orb operation, and relevant service notifications.
Internet & network stateDownloads models and catalog updates, checks connectivity, and supports Google Play purchase operations.

You can change or revoke permissions in Android settings.

On iPhone and iPad

PermissionWhy Saybold uses it
MicrophoneRecords audio when you start a dictation or meeting recording, or while you keep Keyboard Mode on. In Keyboard Mode, the microphone stays on until you turn it off or iOS interrupts it; audio between dictations is discarded. iOS shows its microphone indicator whenever the microphone is in use.
Location while using the app (optional)Matches a new dictation or meeting to a place you named. Location is requested only while you use Saybold, is used on your device, and is not sent to us.
Contact picker (optional)You choose contacts in the iOS contact picker. Saybold reads only the names you pick and adds them to your local vocabulary; it does not get access to your contact list.
Face ID, Touch ID, or passcodeConfirms it is you before a backup is exported or restored. Saybold receives only a yes or no from iOS, never biometric data.
Saybold keyboard & Allow Full AccessThe keyboard types without Full Access. If you turn Full Access on, the keyboard uses it only to exchange dictation controls and dictated text with the Saybold app on your device, through storage that only Saybold’s own app and extensions can read. The keyboard does not send what you type or dictate over the internet.
Notifications (optional)Lets Saybold tell you about new speech models, if you allow it.

You can change permissions in iOS Settings. On both platforms, some features stop working if their required permissions are disabled. Location context is optional and can be switched off.

3. Downloads & service providers

Model files and catalog information are delivered over HTTPS through Amazon Web Services infrastructure, including CloudFront. Some downloads can fall back to Hugging Face. Requests disclose ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as an IP address, requested file or URL, request headers, and download or resume information.

AWS security tooling can retain sampled requests, including the client IP address, an IP-derived country, request headers, and the requested resource. These are operational and security records, not recordings or transcripts. Downloads do not attach your dictated words or contact list.

Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their practices and retention periods are described in their policies:

  • AWS Privacy Notice
  • Hugging Face Privacy Policy
  • Google Privacy Policy (Android)
  • Apple Privacy Policy (iPhone and iPad)

4. Purchases & diagnostics

On Android

Google Play processes payments. Saybold receives purchase information, such as the purchased product, purchase token, signed receipt, and purchase or subscription state, so it can unlock features, restore access, and acknowledge purchases. Saybold does not receive your payment-card number.

The Google Play Billing library also sends technical diagnostics through Google’s infrastructure. These can include app version, device and Android build information, locale, timezone, and network or operator metadata. Billing is initialized when the app starts; this diagnostic activity is separate from speech recognition.

Translation and language identification use Google’s ML Kit on your device. Saybold downloads the language models you need; translated text is processed locally. Optional AI summary refinement uses ML Kit on supported devices. ML Kit sends Google technical diagnostics and usage information, including device and app details, installation or other identifiers, feature events, performance and error information, input/output sizes, and configured or identified languages. Translation also uses Firebase Remote Config and Firebase Installations for technical configuration and diagnostics. These services connect over HTTPS; local processing of your text does not mean that no technical information leaves the device. See Google’s ML Kit data disclosure and Firebase’s privacy information.

On iPhone and iPad

Apple processes payments for the Yearly and Monthly subscriptions. Saybold verifies the Apple-signed transaction on your device to unlock Full Access; we never see your payment details and do not run a server that stores your purchase history.

Translation uses Apple’s on-device Translation framework after you download the languages you need; Apple asks before downloading language packs. On supported devices and languages, Apple Intelligence can refine meeting summaries on your device. The iPhone and iPad app contains no third-party SDKs.

If you turn on Share with App Developers in iOS settings, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us. Apple controls that sharing; you can turn it off at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

Saybold has no advertising SDK or separate app-operated behavioral-analytics service on either platform. The Android provider diagnostics described above still apply. Saybold does not sell your dictations or use their contents for advertising.

5. Storage, retention & security

Local information is stored in the app’s private storage on your device. Recorded audio follows the app’s retention setting; the current default is 30 days. On Android, retention also keeps at most 200 completed recordings, the dictation feed keeps up to the most recent 100 entries, and unfinished recordings are excluded from automatic cleanup so you can recover them. Meeting recordings, transcripts, and notes can remain in the app until you delete them or remove the app’s data. Activity totals can remain separately until you clear the relevant app data.

Full Access includes a user-initiated data export. The archive is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your password; you choose where to save it, such as Files or iCloud Drive on iPhone, and how to transfer it. On iPhone and iPad, iOS confirms it is you before an export or restore. An import checks the archive and lets you review its contents before restoring. Anyone who has both the file and password may be able to read or restore its contents; keep both safe, because we cannot recover a forgotten password. Downloaded models, system permissions, widgets, and purchases are not included in the archive, and Full Access is required on both devices.

Starting with Saybold 1.5.0 on Android, the app disables automatic Android cloud backup and excludes its app data from Android device transfer. Older Android versions of Saybold could allow system backup depending on your Android version, device, settings, and quota; this update does not remove older system backups. On iPhone and iPad, Saybold excludes its saved library and downloaded models from iCloud Backup and computer backups; settings that iOS stores for the app may still be included in a device backup under your Apple Account settings. Use the encrypted export and import controls when you want to move supported data yourself.

Model delivery uses HTTPS. Local files benefit from the app-storage protections of Android or iOS and the security settings of your device. The optional export archive has its own encryption, but we do not claim a separate layer of app-managed encryption for every saved file.

External providers control retention of their own operational, payment, and diagnostic records under their policies. Support correspondence is kept as needed to respond, resolve issues, and meet applicable obligations; you can contact us to request deletion. Deleting local app data does not automatically delete provider records, purchase records, support emails, existing system backups, or exports you saved elsewhere.

6. Your choices & deletion

  • Use the app’s controls to disable saved dictation history, clear available history or recording data, delete meetings, remove named places, and remove vocabulary entries.
  • Switch off location context in the app or revoke location permission in Android settings or iOS Settings. Existing saved place names and coordinates remain until you remove them or clear app data.
  • On Android, use the app settings to revoke permissions or clear Saybold’s app storage. On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app removes its data from your device. Either way, locally held models, preferences, dictation data, meeting data, and saved places are removed; use care with anything you want to keep.
  • Review or remove system backups and any encrypted archives you created through the tools where you saved them.
  • Manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play subscriptions or, on iPhone and iPad, in your Apple Account subscriptions. Uninstalling Saybold or clearing its data does not cancel a subscription.
  • Contact evolvosofts@gmail.com for questions or requests about information held by Evolvosofts. Include “Saybold privacy request” and enough detail to locate the relevant support correspondence or issue; do not send recordings or sensitive content unless needed.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, request a copy of information, or complain to a data-protection authority. We will assess requests under the rules that apply to you and may need to verify the request. We cannot retrieve dictations that exist only on your device.

7. This website & YouTube

The landing page’s animation is a visual demonstration. It does not request microphone access or record your voice. This page does not include a first-party analytics tracker, advertising pixel, account form, or marketing-cookie script.

The embedded film is not loaded until you press play. It uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain. Once loaded, the player connects to YouTube and related Google services, which may process technical and playback information and use browser storage according to their policies. You may instead open the film directly on YouTube. See the Google Privacy Policy.

The website is hosted by Vercel, which may process ordinary connection and security information such as IP addresses, request times, requested pages, and browser headers. A hosting provider may also use its own access-control cookies where sign-in is required. Store links take you to Google Play or the App Store; their own policies apply.

8. App & purchase terms

Saybold is a voice-to-text tool. Review dictated text, meeting notes, summaries, and translations before sending or relying on them. Recognition and translation quality varies with speech, surroundings, language, chosen model, and device. Download size, storage, and memory requirements differ by model. Language support does not guarantee automatic switching between languages in the same recording.

Free and Full Access

Free access includes unlimited dictation using available Ultra, Mini, and Micro models and selected orb designs. Full Access includes premium models, all Voice Studio designs, meetings and structured notes, named places, the activity calendar, encrypted data import and export, on-device translation, saved history, personal vocabulary, and widgets. On-device AI summary refinement is available only on supported devices and languages. Monthly, Yearly, and, on Google Play, Lifetime purchases unlock the same Full Access feature set. Features and compatible models can change as the app evolves.

Subscriptions and free trials

Monthly and Yearly Full Access are auto-renewing subscriptions. Eligible new subscribers may receive a seven-day free trial, once per Google or Apple account, on either plan. A trial converts to the paid plan shown at checkout unless you cancel before it ends. The final price, applicable taxes, eligibility, and purchase terms appear in Google Play or the App Store before you confirm.

On the App Store, payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. App Store downloads are also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

On Google Play, manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play. Lifetime access on Google Play is a separate one-time purchase without recurring billing and without a free trial.

Refund requests are handled through the applicable Google Play process or by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and through any rights provided by law. Nothing on this page limits mandatory consumer rights. The website itself does not take payments.

Responsible use

Record meetings only when everyone involved has given any consent required in your situation. Do not use Saybold to violate another person’s privacy or rights. Protect your device, passwords, and exported files. Review text and generated notes before using or sharing them. Third-party app and platform names belong to their respective owners and do not imply endorsement.

9. Help & support

For app help, purchase questions, or privacy requests, email evolvosofts@gmail.com. Include your device model, Android or iOS version, and the Saybold version shown in Saybold’s settings. We usually reply within two business days.

Dictate in other apps on iPhone and iPad

  • Open Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard, then choose Saybold.
  • Tap Saybold and turn on Allow Full Access. This lets the keyboard talk to the Saybold app on your device; your typed words are not collected or uploaded.
  • In Saybold, turn on Keyboard Mode. You can also use the Keyboard microphone control in Control Center or the widget.
  • In any app, switch to the Saybold keyboard with the globe key, tap the orb, speak, and insert your words.

If the orb does nothing when you tap it, check that Allow Full Access is on and Keyboard Mode is enabled; if iOS stopped Saybold or a call interrupted it, turn Keyboard Mode on again.

Dictate in other apps on Android

Allow Saybold to display over other apps to use the floating orb. Optionally turn on Saybold’s Accessibility service so it can insert dictated words into the focused text field.

Models and translation

If dictation says a model is needed, open Saybold and download a speech model; after that, dictation works offline. On iPhone and iPad, translation asks you to download the languages you need the first time.

Subscriptions

  • Manage or cancel: Google Play subscriptions on Android; Settings > your name > Subscriptions on iPhone and iPad, or Manage subscription on Saybold’s plans page.
  • Restore on a new device: open Saybold’s plans page and restore while signed in with the same Google or Apple account.
  • Refunds: through Google Play, or from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Requirements

iPhone or iPad with iOS 18 or later, or a compatible Android phone, tablet, or foldable. Model compatibility varies by device and language; on-device AI summary refinement needs a supported device and language.

10. Children & policy updates

Saybold is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you are concerned about information a child may have shared with us, contact evolvosofts@gmail.com. The app does not create Saybold user accounts or ask for a date of birth.

When you use the app’s email-feedback feature, your email app opens a new message to us. On Android, it is prefilled with information such as the Saybold version, device model, and Android version; on iPhone and iPad, only the subject is prefilled. You can edit the message and choose whether to send it. Emails you send also disclose your email address and whatever content you include.

We may update this policy as the app or its providers change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected here and, where appropriate, communicated through the app or another suitable channel.
